Additional information
Benua’/ Tunjung. Composite head which seems to be inspired by the Indian Makara, a monsterhead. The head shows a lotus-style ornament, a pair of horns and two snakes. The devouring element is present in all figures present, the Makara-style head, the anthropomorph devouring a zoomorph and the ‘snakes’ with opened muzzles. A diminutive simian head appears in the right hand corner of the central muzzle.
