Additional information

According to Heppell in his description of the shield the provenance could be Ngaju, Central kalimantan. When we compare this shield with the ones illustrated in the publication mentioned as reference, it becomes clear that the colouring of the alternating panels in the lower section has not been consequently applied. The ‘eyes’ may be understood as moons in its various stages. Here too, the colouring of the central panel seems to be messed with, on purpose?
