Very few skull korwars exist, due to the fact that the were only made for the commemoration of very important persons within a community. The present item shows much resemblance to the Biak korwar collected in 1940 by J.W. van Nouhuys and which is now part of the collection of the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam (inv. nr. 2442-2)
