Additional information

Compared to a photograph in one of De Vries’ photo albums the tip of the nose and the right ear ornament has been restored after June 2001.
This exceptionally fine executed piece of sculpture was once part of a family altar, tavu, where it was positioned on the upper beam of the altar by means of a peg beneath the base of the sculpture.
