Spoons featuring an anthropomorphic figure in or on top of the handle are relatively rare. Here a three dimensional rendition of the body with hands in a position found on Flores and especially Dayak amulets. Below the figure are two patterns of mirrored double spirals so often encounterd in Asmat art (bipanew) and in origin Dong son related.
